Moon On The Shore
Moon on the Shore is a modern romance and exile novel, inspired by a true story. The narrative begins in the shadow of the war between Iran and Israel. Bombs fall from the sky, but instead of pure fear, a hope for freedom sprouts in people’s hearts. Amid this chaos, the protagonist searches for his great love. At the same time, the novel confronts readers with the experiences of Iranian women – with a historical, social, cultural, and religious patriarchy that has shaped family and society for generations. It shows that love in such an environment is not only personal but also political. At the center is a man who rises up against these structures. He fights not only for his own freedom but also for the salvation of his love. To secure a shared future, he leaves his homeland and sets out for Germany. But exile brings not only hope, but also new crises: foreignness, loneliness, and the fragility of a love caught between tradition and a new beginning. Parallel to the storyline in Germany, the novel takes a journey back to Iran. With poetic imagery, the culture, poetry, history, geography, and even the culinary traditions of the country come alive. The imagery is so vivid that one can see the landscapes, smell the scents, and feel the emotions of the characters directly. Moon on the Shore is more than just a dark romance tale: it is a psychological novel, a piece of exile literature, and a literary protest against oppression and patriarchal power structures. Poetic, intense, and rich in imagery, it invites readers to experience an Eastern, Persian-influenced love in the German context.
